The Many Flavors of Divinity

Psalms, Prayers, and Devotionals

Beloved Redeemer,
You kindle hope in me; You show me holiness and teach me patience.  I am marinating in a slow cooker, becoming the son You called me to be.  By the strength of Your Spirit, by the light of Your glory I am made to fly.  Make me as Your puppet on a string.  Control me with a tight leash, lest I choose unwisely.
The petition I sang to You has been fulfilled.  I am turned.  It was I who squandered Your assets, and I have held my head low ever since.  But I know of Your great Love for me; I know that You will not have me to suffer indefinitely; for You have given me peace and comfort.  Even though I have grieved You,  You have provided me a desirable and merciful end.
Oh Master, may I always follow You.  May I always feed upon Your inspiration.  Nourish me, my Beloved, as a mother provides a suckling, nourish me with the many flavors of divinity, glimpses into Your holy and ineffable character.  These spontaneous adventures you sponsor in my life make my heart merry.
I grow older but am young in Spirit.  Thank You for the best gift one could ever receive—eternal life; the gift of Your Spirit; the gift of being called Your Son.  In the name of Jesus, praise, honor, and glory be unto You.  Amen.
