You Keep a Hymn on My Mind and a Melody in My Heart

Psalms, Prayers, and Devotionals

 Dearest Lord
I have spun in circles and been brought to naught.  My heart is heavy-laden with grief.  I mourn through great affliction and accept thy righteous rebuke.  Thank You for correction and for showing me what a fool I am.
Only the fool can make fun of the king and get away with it.  Only the jester amuses with folly.  When I was a child I thought as a child, but now that I am a man I put away childish things.
I shall seek the kingdom of heaven first and all its righteousness.  Lord, You keep a hymn on my mind and a melody in my heart.  Your mercy endures forever.  The righteous man falls seven times but knows how to get up facing the correct direction.  The righteous live by faith in Your Word.
Inculcate me with Your scriptures, the promises upon which I stand.  Thank you for teaching me symbols, numbers, and form, but I pray to learn of Your sacred geometry which fastens the universe together.
You are a God who can be entreated, a personal God of Truth.  Thank You for Jesus to provide my pathway home.  Come to me, Beloved, let us enter into the tabernacle of our communion.  Activate Your power and agency in me.
Thank You for fulfilling my heart’s desires, for satisfying me by Your waters.  Remove me of all want and affection.  Purify my soul, that I be pleasing and attractive in Your eyes.  Enable me to please You my Husband.
Thank you for these eternal moments with You, to visit behind the veil and sense the pulse of creation.  Precious Existence, Great “I am that I am,” Jehovah God I call out to You as a son.
Sing a song of praise and make a joyful shout to the Lord in the land of the living.   In Jesus Name.  Amen.
